glastonbury games ......... Finally, with it being the famous Glastonbury festival this weekend, I thought I would show you a flash online game that might make you feel a bit like you are there, and prepare you for the inevitable if you are lucky enough to actually be going.

Glastonbury Games is the home of a tongue in cheek game which pokes fun at some of the less savoury aspects of festival life, such as the portable toilets.

There are three games altogether. Mud Slide, which needs no explanation really, Tent Pegging, which sees you desperately trying to keep your tent up as stumbling festival goers trip over your guylines and Long Drop, which sees you looking after certain sanitary horrors that only someone who has attended a major festival can appreciate.

The games are not particularly highbrow, mostly they are just mad button mashing to the accompaniment of live recordings from previous festivals.

A good bit of lunchtime fun, though, and as close to attending the festival as most of us will get this year.  Posted by Hello

the flickr ...... At Flickr you are welcomed into a warm and friendly community atmosphere with this crisp and simple website.

You have two main choices, register, or just browse the existing directories.

You can use the search box on the opening page, or browse everyone's photos by clicking the link underneath.

Once set up you can start using this website like one of those connected friend networks that became so popular last year

Upload pictures, add comments, invite friends, share photos either privately or publicly, and enter and receive comments.

People put all sorts up on these pages, so obviously discretion should be used when surfing with minors.  Posted by Hello

Google is arguably still the most widely used search engine on the internet, and finding alternative ways to amuse yourself with Google has become something of a cult activity in recent years. These games are known as Google Hacks, and you can find a great one here.

Do not panic about the term "hack", these games are just using the search facility in different ways, and the results can often prove an interesting insight into humanity.

Google Talk is the game I want to highlight. Basically you type the first few words of a sentence into the box - for example, "I like to dance on", then click Start.

The applet then uses those words as a search string in Google and takes the first word that appears at the end of that sentence, on the first result it finds, and adds it to the next search string - bumping the word at the beginning.

It sounds confusing, I know, but have a play. All will become very clear.

gmail drives

imagine a life where you could access files on your pc anywhere in the world and all that you required was an internet connection. well this tool surely makes that wish come true.
its called a gmail drive...it creates a virtual drive in your pc and all you need to do is to paste important files on that drive....
what makes it the best is that it can store files upto 1 gb and does not have any limit like attatchments.......

"It reminds us that time is the final master of men" are the words that Haider uses to introduce the concept of the The Death Clock. It seems a pretty morbid subject I know, but it is not supposed to be taken seriously.

After you enter a few personal but anonymous details about yourself, the website claims to be able to calculate your date of impending death, then very kindly displays it as a countdown timer working in seconds.

It is an interesting little curio, but don't bother clicking the link that comes up to extend your life, unless you want to buy the sponsors' products, that is.  Posted by Hello
